ROSGEO has completed seasonal field work on the promising for gold Satalakhskaya area in the Irkutsk region

The company, on contract terms, started geological surveys at the site in June this year. The site is studied within the framework of the state task assigned by the Federal Agency for Mineral Resources to the All-Russian Scientific Research Geological Institute named after A. P.  Karpinsky (FGUP VSEGEI) to perform regional geological survey work of scale 1:200,000 on group of sheets within the Siberian Federal District in 2017-2019. The Angarsk geological expedition, one of the subdivisions of the Irkutskgeofizika, is directly engaged in research on the Satalakhskaya area. The works will be completed by the end of 2019.
By this time, the specialists of the Irkutsk enterprise will prepare geological information for creating the author’s version of the State Geological Map-200/2 with digital models of the site and will specify the features of its geological structure and the regularities in the location of minerals. Besides, prospective areas in the territory will be localized and the inferred resources by the P3 category will be estimated.  As a result, recommendations will be made on setting up prospecting works with passports of the sites, including the Tonod and Vitim ore regions, promising in terms of discovering industrially significant deposits of iron, gold, tin and other minerals.
