Bazhenovskaya Geophysical Expedition

The Bazhenovskaya Geophysical Expedition is one of the oldest geophysical enterprises in Russia which was established in 1944. The company is distinguished by the comprehensive approach to geological modelling, using data of seismic, gravity, magnetic, and other surveys.

The enterprise performs works under contracts with federal and territorial public authorities, as well as major Russian oil and gas companies and did so in the past. The main methods applied are seismic and gravity surveying, as well as magnetic and electrical exploration. The company carried out its activities in Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Kurgan, and Orenburg Regions, Udmurtia, and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The company applies the methods of seismic, gravity, magnetic, and electrical exploration. It also performs mapping, cartographic works and land surveying.

Seismic surveys are carried out in various modifications. They covered thousands of kilometres of seismic section lines, including those related to oil and gas, in the major Western Siberian and Volga-Ural provinces. Seismic surveys were performed and are still carried out in the Sverdlovsk, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, and Tyumen Regions, as well as in the Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Regions

Types of activities:
  • Regional surveying, prospecting, and evaluation works for oil, gas, and solid minerals
  • Geophysical surveying (seismic, gravity (to all scales), and magnetic)
  • Research and specific works
  • Engineering surveys
  • Topographic and geodetic works using GPS systems
  • Blasting, planning, and land surveying
  • Drilling and hole surveying
  • Subsoil surveying, exploration, and analysis
  • Building production facilities for water resources, construction and technical maintenance of water wells
  • Project design and consulting on geological issues
  • Land survey services (prospectors, geodesists, topographic surveyors, and others) for land owners
