Kamchatgeologia was established in 1951 as the Kamchatka Geological Survey Expedition. Enterprise’s activities determined systematic exploration of Kamchatka and Koryakia, identification and development of the sources of mineral reserves and resources in the region. Many discoveries were made, including the Shanuchskoye and Ozernovskoye, Aginskoye and Rodnikovoye, Mutnovskoye and Asachinskoye deposits, and others.
Nowadays, Kamchatgeologia provides a wide range of exploration services to the companies (subsoil users) operating and performing surveys in the region.
In 1990s, the company completed geotechnical surveys for the construction of the hydroelectric power chain at the Tolmachyov River and the line pipe between the Kshuk field and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, drilling and blasting at the Tolmachyov hydroelectric power chain and the Mutnovsky geothermal power station, drilling for water, environmental monitoring, and earthquake forecasting.
The enterprise comprises of three field crews (Ozernovskaya, Aginskaya, and Maletoivayamskaya) that carry out drilling and mining. PUBR performs drilling, blasting, and geotechnical works. Severnaya and Prognoznaya crews focussing on specific tasks, and Anavgaiskaya and Tymlatskaya geological survey parties conduct specific works and geological surveys. The Kamenisty crew carries out geological surveying of placers at the Kamenisty brook. The Kamchatka Regional Centre for Subsoil Monitoring performs geophysical and hydrogeological surveys, monitoring of exogenous geological processes and groundwater, as well as earthquake forecasting. The enterprise’s central laboratory is equipped to implement a full range of studies on all types of minerals.
