The participants were selected for the GEOARTEK-2019 educational project

Rosgeo and Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting (MGRI) summarized the results of competitive admission of students to participate in the GEARTEK-2019 Young Geologists’ Third International Rally theme-based educational program.

This is a professional orientation project arranged by MGRI and supported by Rosgeo for the third year in a row.

As part of the session at the Artek International Children's Center, the young geologists are taught the all-pervading principles of exploration approach, methods of geological field and laboratory studies, the regulations for safe work during expeditions and the environmental requirements. They also have meetings and workshops with the specialists of geology and related sciences. The participants also acquire skills in field conditions.

In 2019, 235 children were selected to participate in the program. They demonstrated a high level of training and exceptional skills in the field of earth sciences. The results of the competition were published on the official pages of the project on the MGRI website.

The preparation work for the arrival to the camp from September 23-24, 2019 is currently under way. The events planned in the program of the rally will help students to have an overall view of the Earth as a planet and the environmental literacy of an individual, to develop social responsibility, punctuality, initiative, collectivism and leadership skills.
