Rosgeo commenced to process the data on oil and gas prospecting works on the Taimyr Peninsula

Yuzhmorgeologiya, JSC, Rosgeo’s subsidiary (town of Gelendzhik) and Irkutskgeofizika, JSC (town of Irkutsk), together with Taimirgeofizika, JSC completed comprehensive field geophysical works at Novokubalakh site on the Taimyr Peninsula. SNIIGGiMS, JSC (city of Novosibirsk, Rosgeo’s subsidiary) commenced to process the obtained information.

In particular, according to the results of the first six months of 2019, Yuzhmorgeologiya completed the MOGT 2D seismic survey in the amount of 442.5 linear km and electric exploration in the amount of 650 linear km by MT sounding method. Irkutskgeofizika, JSC performed a set of MOGT 2 D seismic surveys in the amount of 550.4 linear km and digital onsite processing of primary exploration materials.

In August 2019, Yuzhmorgeologiya completed the electrical exploration in the amount of 530 linear km by MT sounding method, which had been planned for the III quarter.

Based upon the results of field exploration data processing, the assessment of the oil and gas potential at the Novokubansk site and resources will be given by Dl category and recommendations for further exploration and licensing of certain sites will be provided.

The state contract signed with the Department for subsoil use of the Central Siberian District (Tsentrsibnedra) for comprehensive field geophysical exploration to discover oil and gas sites within Novokubalakh site on the territory of Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets Municipal District of the Krasnoyarsk Region has been executed by Rosgeo since 2017. As a part of the project, the profound exploration of sedimentary cover of the Rassokhin, Kurin and Balakhnin levees, Turku-Logat, Boganid and Zhdanikhin depressions is conducted to increase Taimyr’s hydrocarbon resources and justify the reserve of subsurface sites for licensing. It is planned to complete the state contract by the end of 2019.

Rosgeo is a Russian multi-industry geological parent company, which renders a full range of services related to geological exploration, i.e. from areal studies to stratigraphy and subsoil monitoring. The parent company has distinctive competencies, in particular, in the field of marine geology and offshore operations. Rosgeo was founded according to RF President’s Decree No. 957 of July 15, 2011 based upon one of the oldest exploration companies in Russia – Tsentrgeologiya.

The parent company’s enterprises operate in all eight Federal Districts of Russia.

Irkutskgeofizika is one of the largest specialized geophysical and geological exploration enterprises in Eastern Siberia and the Far East of Russia. The company carries out a broad range of geophysical work in prospecting for oil, gas, and solid mineral resources in hydrogeology, evaluation and prospecting; geodynamic, hydrogeological, and ecological monitoring.

The company has carried out numerous successful studies concerning the oil and gas potential of the southern part of the Siberian craton with its unique geological and geographical environment. Eleven oil and gas deposits were discovered in the area of survey including the largest such as the Kovykta gas condensate field and the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas field. The Sukhoi Log gold deposit, the Sayan group of rare-earth and polymetal deposits, the Nepskiy potassium basin, and others were discovered.

JSC Volgogradneftegeofizika was established in 1950. Throughout its existence, the company has performed over 200,000 linear km of 2D CMP seismic lines, 6,500 sq. km of 3D CMP survey on the territories of Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, Orenburg, Ulyanovsk, Rostov, Astrakhan Regions, the Chechen Republic and the Republic of Kalmykia. Virtually the entire area of the Volgograd Region has been covered by electrical surveys. Specialists of the company took part in various foreign projects (India, Algeria, Iran, Uzbekistan).

The obtained seismic data provided the basis for well drilling recommendations in more than 350 structures and for discovery of over 50 hydrocarbon fields totaling more than 90 MMt of fuel oil equivalent including the Pamyatno-Sasovskoye Oil Field, the largest in the Volgograd Region. Exploration professionals were involved in exploration of all discovered hydrocarbon fields in the Volgograd Region, and of one of the largest fields in the former USSR the Tengiz Field, where they were the key contractors to run field geophysical surveys.

The vast experience and professionalism of field geophysicists as well as unique equipment made it possible to fulfill comprehensive geophysical surveys in superdeep wells penetrating the Guryev Dome (1990, Well 3 of 6,392 m deep), and within the Peri-Caspian Depression (1991, Well 1-Akhtubinskaya, 7,014 m deep; and 1998, Chernaya Padina Well 1, 5,968 m deep).

Many years of experience in combination with up-to-date equipment and software for data processing makes the company capable of efficient geological data collection, reducing clients’ expenditure in further geological surveys in their licensed areas.
