During the negotiations there was held a presentation of RosGeo competencies and areas of activity. The parties paid special attention to the prospects of work on the study of solid mineral resources on the continental shelf of Brazil, taking into account the extensive experience of the enterprises of RosGeo marine cluster in prospecting for ore occurrences at the bottom of the World Ocean under the contracts of the Russian Federation with the International Seabed Authority (ISA).

In particular, in 2019, RosGeo specialists completed the first stage of geological and geophysical studies in the area of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge to identify promising ore occurrences of deep-water polymetallic sulfides. At the area of 10 thousand km2 within the Russian exploration area were found and studied 12 ore sites with the forecast resources of from 100 million tons of copper zinc and copper-pyrite specialization ores. The study area is located in neutral waters northeast of the Brazilian coast.

The Brazilian party also expressed the interest in innovative models of geological and geophysical equipment and specialized underwater vehicles designed for engineering and geological research and geological monitoring at different depths, prospecting, exploration and development of mineral resources of the World Ocean, developed by RosGeo.
