Sergey Gorkov, General Director – Chairman of the Board of RosGeo took part in the work of the business forum "Angola-Russia", held during the working visit of the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço to Moscow.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kobylkin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin.
The Republic of Angola holds significant oil and gas reserves. Production of hydrocarbons and diamonds is the basic economic area for the state, which requires the continuous work on replenishment of the mineral resource base. Rosgeologiya is considering the opportunities for development of cooperation with state authorities and mining companies in the country. In particular, the Holding analyzes the opportunities for participation in the survey and exploration of the fields offshore and onshore, adding value to the licensed areas, as well as additional exploration of the fields that have already been discovered.
The Soviet Union and Angola had a rich history of relations.
“RosGeo possesses an extensive experience of operation on the African continent. Angola is traditionally one of our most important partners, - noted Sergey Gorkov. - The Holding in cooperation with the Geological Institute of Angola elaborated a program of geological works. This program will allow to conduct the survey and exploration of promising geological sites. The holding plans to increase the portfolio of orders, and the foreign market is certainly interesting for us."
